Pravat Kumar Das was born in Balikuda, Odisha and holds qualifications in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Management.
His professional career began with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Nashik, in 1971. Over the course of an accomplished 36-year career, he served the organisation in various capacities and retired in 2007 as Deputy General Manager (Production).
His association with HAL continued even after retirement, when he took on the role of a consultant. He later worked with Indo Russian Aviation Limited as Deputy General Manager (Marketing).
His professional life was shaped by engineering, management, responsibility and decades of experience.
But retirement opened another chapter.
A chapter of family, reflection and spiritual devotion.

After retiring from professional life, Sri Das devoted himself to his family and his spiritual journey.
Along with his wife Dipa and daughter Mousumee, he became a devoted follower of Shirdi Sai Baba.
Their faith was not merely an intellectual interest.
It became a personal journey shaped by experiences, devotion and what they understood as Baba’s blessings and miracles.
These personal experiences form an important part of Ever-Living Sai, particularly Chapter 16, giving the book a deeply personal dimension.
The author’s faith is not separate from the story. It is part of the story.
